Child Custody Evaluation

Child Custody Evaluation

Child Custody Evaluation Process

Child custody evaluations involve a multi-stage process whereby the parents, the children, the parent-child dynamics, and core collateral contacts are interviewed and studied (including psychological testing) to inform the court to make best interest standard recommendations. Our clinical and forensic providers follow the AFCC and APA model standards for conducting custody evaluations.

The information from this multi-stage process is then compared to the allegations in these matters to help the parties and court determine comparative custodial fitness and a formulation of expert opinion on placement of a child(ren) in divorce and separation, decision making, parenting time, modification of an existing parenting plan, service needs, and dispute resolution.
